Current COVID-19 related updates from Stringz Guitar Studio

COVID update Mar 23 2022 – Mike had COVID!

Hi everyone! Mike here.

Most of you are probably aware already, but for anyone who isn’t: I came down with COVID 19 last week, returning a positive test result on Sunday the 13th of March. Paul and Wendy were both unaffected, with no symptoms, with both returning negative test results all week.

I’m now back to healthy (it was thankfully quite mild) and after a week in isolation, I’ve resumed teaching guitar lessons this week.

Except from the occasional cough, I’m symptom-free, and have returned three daily negative rapid antigen tests now, but to err on the side of caution for any elderly or immunocompromised students who might be a little apprehensive about COVID, I totally understand if any students would like to wait a further week before resuming lessons.

For people’s peace of mind, for the next week, I’ll be wearing a mask whilst in the building, and continuing to clean all surfaces between lessons, as is Paul with his room. I’m also forgoing my beloved air conditioner, and am leaving windows and my studio door open (our Labrador Bonnie, who staunchly believes that all doors everywhere should be always open, is absolutely loving it).

Any questions, about COVID itself, or our procedures, just hit me up, happy to answer any questions!

-Mike

COVID update Oct 9 2021 – All student concerts cancelled this year 🙁

Hi everyone!

Sadly for the second year in a row, we are unable to put on any end-of-year concerts for our students and friends this year.

These cancellations will include both our Stringz Kidz Concert and the Stringz Guitar Studio Guitar Soirees that prior to last year, we had run every year for 9 years! We’re still running socially-distanced guitar lessons, are cleaning thoroughly in between all students, we’re encouraging everyone to check-in on the app, and are observing the QLD State Government’s “Covid-Safe” practises.

We are intending to have a fun and productive term #4, and all things going well, we hope we can return to our normal concert season in November 2022!

Stay safe, stay healthy, here’s to term #4!

COVID Update June 4th, 2020 – Stringz Guitar Studio resuming face-to-face lessons!

Hi there to all of our one on one students!

Just touching base to let you know that we are commencing a gradual return to face-to-face lessons from next Tuesday 9 June 2020. Please note this applies only to our one on one learners at the Aspley studio. For any of our Stringz Kidz learners at schools around Brisbane, we will be in touch in coming weeks to let you know of the plan!

We are implementing some changes to accommodate the requirements of social distancing and CovidSafe hygiene, to minimise C19 risk to our clients and staff.

We’ve been rearranging the furniture in our studios to ensure 4 square metres of space per person. We are putting our beloved sofas into storage for a while, and we’ll require that just our student and teacher get together in our studio at this time. We will have the facility for duo lessons in our larger studio. But sorry, but we can’t have family members along for the time being.

We will be rescheduling our timetable to allow a 10 minute buffer between lessons, so that we may ensure a smooth transition from one student to the next.

We will have hand sanitiser available, and we’ll also be cleaning door knobs, music stands and other surfaces between each lesson. If you’d like to return to lessons with us, we would love to see you!

For the remainder of this term, Mikey will be phasing in his timetable. Unfortunately, Paul is still recovering from his surgery, but barring unforeseen circumstances, he will be resuming with his students from Tuesday 14 July.

If you’d like to reserve a lesson time, please contact your teacher directly.

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay rockin’ and we’ll see you soon!
